As a black trans women and trailblazing recording artist, Mila Jam has often used her creative platform to amplify the voices of marginalized communities. Yet with her latest audio/visual for “Faces”, Mila enhances the power of trans visibility and the strength of queer unity. Celebrating International Trans Day Of Visibility, Mila has brought together a brilliant selection of queer and trans voices, to further break the walls of isolation within our society. The video has guest appearances from Laverne Cox, Candis Cayne, Tituss Burgess, Zackary Drucker, Trace Lysette and more. In a statement released to Out Magazine, Mila discussed the importance of releasing this visual on International Trans Day Of Visibility.
“Everyone needs to see a reflection of themselves. Trans people are no different and completely worthy—beyond worthy. Trans Day of Visibility is a way to say, ‘We belong here, just like you.”
