As multifacted and truly unapologetic artist, Mykki Blanco has continuously embraced the essence of transparency within her creative career. In 2015 Mykki took another admirable step in embracing her truth, by sharing her HIV+ status publicly via Facebook. By doing this, Mykki not only further liberated herself personally, but she also became a beacon of inspiration for so many who live with HIV worldwide.
With today being National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, Mykki aims to further break the stigma of HIV worldwide with her visual for “Hideway”. Teaming up with director Daisy Zhou, W Magazine and amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research), Mykki transforms the lyrical flare of her 2016 track “Hideway”, into a artful examination of HIV within a romantic partnership. You can experience the full visual below and check out Mykki’s full interview with W Magazine within the source link.
